Private Health care insurance

There are two basic types of private health insurance plans available in Indiana. They are:

* Indemnity plans, also referred to as fee-for-service plans, which are the most expensive plans. These plans provide medical care in exchange for a premium and a deductible (usually $500 to $2,000). Using these plans you may use your physician and hospital of your choosing.

* Managed Health Care Plans (HMOs, PPOs, POSs), which are the least expensive plans. Efforts provide health care in return for a premium and a co-payment (usually $5 to $10 per doctor visit). With one of these plans you must make use of a doctor or hospital within a network of health care professionals, or pay a different fee to use a non-network doctor or hospital.
